Kat Smith, LCSW, CAADC, CEAP, SAP

Kat graduated with her Master’s in Social Work from Widener University in 2016. Kat went on to earn her license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2019. Kat went on for specialized training to conduct drug and alcohol assessments for the Department of Transportation. Kat is a Certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). In addition, she is a Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CAADC), and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). Kat has over 20 years of experience in the Behavioral Health / Substance Abuse field. She has worked in a variety of settings. Her approach to therapy is to meet the client where they are and work with the client on their path to growth, enlightenment, and healing. Kat uses different therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Short-term Brief Solution Focused treatment, and will teach Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills. Her primary work has been with people who struggle with addiction (drug and alcohol use) and has experience working with people who struggle with depression, bipolar, anxiety, grief, and trauma. Kat provides individual therapy from young adults to the elderly.
